- Personal advising for effectiveness in higher education
This is a unique service for faculty members (full- or part-time), department chairs, deans, and provosts.
Staff members may find it helpful, too. This service enables you to contract for 45 minutes or more
of Beth's time in order to gain professional advice and coaching about any number of situations you
are facing: a difficult situation in a department, frustrations about tenure, an upcoming job search,
how to move an academic initiative forward on campus, and more. Beth knows the private college/university
environment and can help you think through your situation on campus.
You may also wish to recommend to a colleague or faculty member that he or she contact Beth for
consultation. Deans and department chairs may find this option appealing when they themselves can't
provide the consultation, either due to time constraints or simply the sensitivity of the situation.
- Coaching for career advancement
Beth can help you think through the next steps in your career, especially if you wish to move into a
leadership position such as department chair, dean, or provost, as well as positions of leadership
for staff. Beth has mentored a multitude of faculty and staff over the years, many of her mentees
attaining dean or other leadership roles in academe. In hiring dozens of individuals over the years, Beth
understands the decisions, processes, and standards involved in hiring for higher education. So she is
a good person to help you strengthen your CV and application materials and consider other ways to
move your academic career forward.

Wondering how you can "do it all" and still have a sane home life? While Beth does not have all the answers,
she has faced personal challenges and has learned how to navigate the demands of academe while
rearing three children. She can help you consider your professional priorities within your personal contexts.
